~Aaron Buttenhoff~ Sports Director
Since I started here as the Sports Director in August 2006, I have loved my time...from living in Willmar to my new place in Raymond. I do a little bit of everything for the radio station from weekends on Hot Country K95 to being the voice of MACCRAY Wolverine sports on 97.3 The River including covering many other sporting events around the area and live reports from state tournaments throughout the year. As you may guess I am a big time sports nut! In the fall, its high school, Golden Gopher and Minnesota Vikings football. Winter, I’m at a MACCRAY basketball game or following the Minnesota Wild or St Cloud State Huskies hockey team. Spring and summer its all about baseball whether it be the Twins or Stingers. I also like to go camping, fishing, and I am a whiz in the kitchen since before radio I spent 12 years as a chef and still do work as a cook/chef. I also spent 3 years active duty US Army and the last 12 years in the US Army Reserve including a deployment to the Middle East for a total of 15 years. I am also a big time fair goer. I go to as many of the county fairs that I can and the only time in the past 25 years that I can remember missing the Minnesota State Fair is during my deployment, but I’m sure there is maybe 2 others that I’ve missed. Plus, I DJ weddings, sweet 16 parties, anniversaries and any party you need music to make the night better. Party DJ page here...
I grew up on a farm southeast of Blue Earth, Mn. just on the Iowa side of the border, made it through school and went to Brown college in Minneapolis for radio training, and then...
It was a dark and stormy night, 1974, in Boone, Iowa, when I began my work as a full time radio person. 12 years later, it was time to move on, with radio stops in Lincoln, Nebraska and Zanesville, Ohio, then into a different side of the entertainment biz...Playing drums full time, traveling, seeing the USA and Canada, (and Matamoros, Mexico one dusty afternoon!), and meeting and working with some very very talented people along the way.
When that career landed, the great state of Minnesota beckoned, and after a month of searching, Willmar became the new home base, and here it is, 20 years later already!
I fish, I hunt, vacation in mexico whenever possible, dj weddings and parties, and love being a part of your morning on K95, or the River 97, or AM 1590! It's your choice where to tune in each day! That said, welcome to our website and thank you so much for logging in, and tuning in! or check out my Party DJ page here...
I started with K95, The River and KDJS on September 1st 2012. A little about myself, I was born and raised in Willmar. Graduated from Willmar in 98 and Ridgewater in 01 with an A.A.S. in Marketing Management. I am a BIG sports fan. I enjoy all of the 4 major sports teams, Twins, Wild and T-Wolves. But I am by far the biggest fan of the Vikings. I literally bleed purple. Also you can catch me at the Stingers games in the summer with season tickets. When I am not watching sports, I try to play them. I enjoy playing golf, softball, basketball, football and any other sport I'm willing to try. I also enjoy playing my PS3. Which this might be a surprise but I play the sport games, mainly Madden football. I bought a house in town in 2002 and got married to my lovely wife in 2005. We have 2 wonderful children, 1 boy and 1 girl. There is nothing better then being a father.

~Erica Bjork~ Part-time Announcer
Mostly known as a radio school, most people find it surprising that I graduated from BrownCollege with a Bachelor’s Degree in Photography. It was there, though, that I realized my love for music. I interned for K102, one of the Twin Cities biggest country stations, and knew from that moment that my heart was in music. Sugarland has been one my favorite bands since 2009. I fell in love with their inspiring lyrics and live performance and dreamed of being their tour photographer. Low and behold, I actually had a chance to tour with them after creating a video called “The Little Miss Project.” It was quite a ride. In early 2014, I landed my first part-time radio job here at KDJS. The people are wonderful and it’s been very fun learning the ropes of being an announcer. In my spare time, I love going to concerts, playing my guitar, relaxing at the lake, and being an auntie.

~Stephen Ray ~ Announcer
I spent my youth on the North Shore of Lake Superior between Grand Marais and Grand Portage Minnesota. My family relocated to Bemidji in 1991 where I started attending Bemidji Senior High School. A year and a half later my radio career began after visiting a friend who was working at the campus radio station of Bemidji State University. I found myself fascinated with the idea of being a broadcaster and after asking if I could try it out, despite not being a student there, to my surprise the faculty advisor of the mass communications department said, “Eh, what the heck. If you think you can do it we’ll give you a shot”. Within months I was out acquiring new ad clients and producing commercials along with hosting my own featured show. I spent a few years on that station and the experience I gained there led to more broadcast positions to add to my resume. Well, a lot of time has passed since those days. I spent time in the restaurant and sales industries throughout the years. A few towns and a few career changes later, here I am back doing what I found myself so fascinated with as a teenager: Broadcasting for one of the best country radio stations in the state, Hot Country K95.3! In addition to being a DJ on the radio, I have also been an emcee for weddings and an eventual owner of a company that has provided lighting, sound, facilitation and event planning services for private and corporate clients throughout the Upper Midwest. Outside of work I enjoy spending time in the great outdoors fishing, hunting, and target shooting. I also like to get in a few rounds of golf when I can. When the weather doesn’t allow me to do anything outside, I put my years of restaurant experience to good use preparing meals for my family. I love to try out new recipes I find on the internet! My indoor time is also spent writing, playing guitar, and trying to work my way through all the unfinished books on the shelves at home. At different times throughout the day you can also find me glued to some form of technology either surfing the web or checking in with friends on Facebook.
