~Al Sheldon~ Morning Announcer
I grew up on a farm southeast of Blue Earth, Mn. just on the Iowa side of the border, made it through school and went to Brown college in Minneapolis for radio training, and then...
It was a dark and stormy night, 1974, in Boone, Iowa, when I began my work as a full time radio person.   12 years later, it was time to move on, with radio stops in Lincoln, Nebraska and Zanesville, Ohio, then into a different side of the entertainment biz...Playing drums full time, traveling, seeing the USA and Canada, (and Matamoros, Mexico one dusty afternoon!), and meeting and working with some very very talented people along the way.
When that career landed,  the great state of Minnesota beckoned, and after a month of searching, Willmar became the new home base, and here it is, over 25 years later already!
I fish, I hunt, vacation in mexico whenever possible,  dj weddings and parties, and love being a part of your morning on K95, or the River 97, or AM 1590!  It's your choice where to tune in each day!
That said, welcome to our website and thank you so much for logging in, and tuning in!

I started with K95, The River and KDJS on September 1st 2012.  A little about myself, I was born and raised in Willmar.  Graduated from Willmar in 98 and Ridgewater in 01 with an A.A.S. in Marketing Management.  I am a BIG sports fan.  I enjoy all of the 4 major sports teams, Twins, Wild and T-Wolves.  But I am by far the biggest fan of the Vikings.  I literally bleed purple.  Also you can catch me at the Stingers games in the summer with season tickets.  When I am not watching sports, I try to play them.  I enjoy playing golf, softball, basketball, football and any other sport I'm willing to try.  I also enjoy playing my PS3.  Which this might be a surprise but I play the sport games, mainly Madden football.  I bought a house in town in 2002 and got married to my lovely wife in 2005. We have 2 wonderful children, 1 boy and 1 girl.  There is nothing better then being a father.

I graduated from Mound Westonka high school in the western suburbs of the Twin Cities back in 2001 where I played football, baseball, and was a sprinter in track. I have a passion for most all sports, and is a big reason why I decided to go back to college at the ripe age of 30, and got my degree in radio broadcasting from Brown College in February 2016! I worked in the maintenance field for most of my working life until I started here at KDJS in October of 2015. I have a little boy who I love building forts, Lego's, snow forts, play-do, you name it with. I am truly a big kid at heart. When I have free time I like to go bowling and sing karaoke. I enjoy music from Bing Crosby, Big Frank, Dean Martin and the rest of the rat pack. When it comes to country Allan Jackson tops the list. My favorite sports teams are the Twins/Vikes and the Mets/Jets. I love the simple things in life. I believe that when you can recognize them. They can be the greatest joys you'll have.

I'm a fiercely patriotic American. I served nearly 24 years until I was retired in December 2005. Nowadays, I continue to serve as a member of The American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts in Willmar.

Following my military service, I worked in Silicon Valley managing the North American distribution network for a Japanese semiconductor company. Then took an exciting position managing the support processes at large flight kitchen an international airline catering company at San Francisco International Airport. During this time, I was also a high demand club and electronic dance music (EDM) DJ playing in venues large and small on the west coast. In November 2009, I started performing on internet radio stations. This lead to my interest in broadcasting and radio. After moving to Fargo in 2011, I started at KNDS 96.3. When I moved to Willmar, I applied at both Q102 and K95...and K95 won. I love our stations, our formats, and more importantly, you, our loyal listeners.

We have a fantastic life here in Minnesota and in the Midwest. I've lived all over the world and the USA, but nothing surpasses our life here - not even California. I suppose that's why so many people come back. It's sometimes hard to appreciate what you have until you don't have it anymore. I don't want to live anywhere else. I love my dogs, a beagle and a puggle. Both are rescues who really rescued my heart after my beloved 15 year old scottish terrier, Lucy passed away on August 24th, 2014. I enjoy the companionship of these little critters with my spouse of 29 years. We helped raise four foster sons, the youngest of which is now a senior at San Jose State University in California. We are active members at Bethel Lutheran in Willmar. I've lived war and now all I want is peace in our little corner of God's country.

~Stevie Ray~ Announcer
I spent my youth on the North Shore of Lake Superior between Grand Marais and Grand Portage Minnesota. My family relocated to Bemidji in 1991 where I started attending Bemidji Senior High School. A year and a half later my radio career began after visiting a friend who was working at the campus radio station of Bemidji State University. I found myself fascinated with the idea of being a broadcaster and after asking if I could try it out, despite not being a student there, to my surprise the faculty advisor of the mass communications department said, “Eh, what the heck. If you think you can do it we’ll give you a shot”. Within months I was out acquiring new ad clients and producing commercials along with hosting my own featured show. I spent a few years on that station and the experience I gained there led to more broadcast positions to add to my resume. Well, a lot of time has passed since those days. I spent time in the restaurant and sales industries throughout the years. A few towns and a few career changes later, here I am back doing what I found myself so fascinated with as a teenager: Broadcasting for one of the best country radio stations in the state, Hot Country K95.3! In addition to being a DJ on the radio, I have also been an emcee for weddings and an eventual owner of a company that has provided lighting, sound, facilitation and event planning services for private and corporate clients throughout the Upper Midwest. Outside of work I enjoy spending time in the great outdoors fishing, hunting, and target shooting. I also like to get in a few rounds of golf when I can. When the weather doesn’t allow me to do anything outside, I put my years of restaurant experience to good use preparing meals for my family. I love to try out new recipes I find on the internet! My indoor time is also spent writing, playing guitar, and trying to work my way through all the unfinished books on the shelves at home. At different times throughout the day you can also find me glued to some form of technology either surfing the web or checking in with friends on Facebook.
